Working with community groups across the city, we are pushing for our city council to pass a rent stabilization ordinance, capping rent increases to 4% per year as the housing crisis in our city worsens. We are workers of Providence, and we always stand with our community.
As a longtime advocate for labor, housing, and human rights, David Morales has unwaveringly supported the Providence labor movement and has been a strong ally for our local for years. We are honored to have formally endorsed his campaign. Let’s get PVD the mayor we deserve!
ENSHRINING FELLOW BARGAINING RIGHTS IN RI STATE LAW
In the summer of 2025, our political committee helped pass groundbreaking legislation enshrining labor rights for fellows into state law, making Rhode Island the first state in the nation to codify fellow bargaining rights. Our graduate workers union is currently using this law as a basis to fight for Brown to recognize fellows as part of their union.
